SK and A, Inc. and Noonan Rittimann Architects, LLC are proud to announce the merger of their firms. Moving forward as Kaarlsen Noonan Rittimann Garcia (KNRG), the merger only strengthens the established traditions of excellent service, deep expertise and an environment where clients and associates are excited to be included. We now offer a larger, more in-depth and experienced organization providing a wider array of services.

Our purpose is simply to work diligently with the client and all team members to ensure a successful project process. Utilizing our distinct team of architects, we provide the client with a design that meets their needs and ideas while conforming to the unique guidelines of their budget and timeframe. From transferring the client’s vision to paper, to turning that design into a finished investment, our desire is to exceed expectations.

Our diverse portfolio includes commercial office buildings, medical office buildings, educational, retail, research, institutional, residential and warehouse space projects. This variety of experience is a result of combined proficiency in architecture, design and a solid background in construction services. Our particular mixture of knowledge allows us to offer a wide range of services to meet the specific needs of each project.

Shawn Kaarlsen AIA, RAS, NCARB

President/Owner

While earning his Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University, Shawn also studied civil engineering. Early in his career, he was a design intern working in historic preservation and restoration projects. Shawn has worked in design and construction since 1988, bringing this valuable experience to KNRG Architects. As a licensed architect, his resume includes large civic projects, educational facilities, libraries, commercial office buildings, technology centers, recreational parks, parking garages, medical and imaging centers, along with retail and high-end custom residential projects. Shawn also gives back to the community by actively participating in school advisory teams, bond committees and public school planning committees. Shawn’s primary intention is to exceed expectations for each client’s project needs and visions.

C. Craig Noonan AIA

Principal/Owner

Craig comes to KNRG with a rich history of architecture in his family. Addis Noonan began his architectural career in San Antonio in 1921. After Addis’ death in 1950, his sons, Thomas A Noonan and Clifton E. Noonan, continued in their father’s footsteps. The Noonan name has been a fixture in the San Antonio Architectural world since 1921. Craig is the third generation of Noonan Architects. Craig graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Texas A&M University. His experience includes governmental projects (federal, state, county and city), medical and health facilities and extensive expertise in educational facilities including over 50 school districts though out Central and South Central Texas.

John W. Rittimann AIA

Principal/Owner

After earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Texas A&M University, John joined Noonan-Krocker-Dockery Architects in 1973. In 1996, the company changed names to Noonan-Dockery-Rittimann Architects, LLC, then to Noonan Rittimann Architects, LLC in 2002. Recently, the long established name of Noonan Rittimann has merged with S K and A, Inc. to become Kaarlsen Noonan Rittimann Garcia Architects. John has extensive experience in educational facilities in over 50 school districts across Central and South Central Texas. He also has experience in medical and health facilities and government projects, including federal, state, county and city.

Fernando Garcia AIA

Vice President/Owner

Fernando’s training began at the Naval Air Station Oceana Training Center. Beginning his professional career in 1995, he has attained invaluable architectural experience. Included in the many proficiencies he brings to our firm are programming, schematic design, plan development, construction documents and construction administration. Fernando’s portfolio includes medical, education, recreation and corporate projects and large-scale projects, such as, convention centers, higher education and civic buildings. He has extensive knowledge in information technologies and an invaluable understanding of the complexities involved in infrastructure projects. Volunteering in public school boundary and safety committees and in his home owners’ association, Fernando stays connected with our community and its needs. Fernando is committed to providing the highest level of service, recognized by long-term relationships with clients.
