The Bend Sports Bar

The owner of the Around the Bend bar envisioned rebuilding and upgrading this long-time San Antonio establishment in a nearby site to meet the expectations of the current clientele, while attracting a new generation of patrons. KNRG Architects designed the one-story, approximately 3,100 sq. ft. building. The plans for the new location of The Bend Sports Bar included large glass garage doors along the rear of the building opening onto a future tiered patio overlooking the Greenway Trail System near Bandera and Mainland. The inside of the bar has an open feel consisting of different sections: a large wrap around bar with lots of seating and one side accessible for the future outside patio, an indoor gaming area and a large sit-down dining room. The client also wanted a meeting/party “room within a room” without using permanent partitions. KNRG architects exceeded the client’s expectation by utilizing working glass garage doors within the building to accommodate this need.
