Taft High School – Library

William H. Taft High School was the fifth NISD high school and the first to be located outside Loop 1604.  The original building was designed by Noonan, Dockery and Rittimann Architects.  Mr. Rittimann is currently a principal at KNRG.  The project involved renovating the existing lower level Library into teacher spaces for conferences, etc.  The main entry level space was transformed into new administrative areas.  KNRG designed a new second level main entrance, with a curved ceiling space leading to the Library addition and the existing school.  New entrance canopies, courtyard, interior walls along with MEP, technology, roofing, finishes and landscape work transform the school entrance area.
